Australian web series Sarah’s Channel to be featured at San Diego Comic-Con, 18-21 July 2019

Sarah’s Channel, the new ABC Comedy web series, will be showcased at San Diego Comic-Con, North America's largest pop culture convention. It will be the first entirely Australian series ever featured at the convention. San Diego Comic-Con attracts more than 130,000 visitors over its four days, with guests and exhibitors including film studios, actors, publishers and graphic novelists.

Starring Australian comedian Claudia O’Doherty (known to US audiences for her roles in Love (Netflix), Inside Amy Schumer and films including Trainwreck), sci fi-comedy Sarah’s Channel chronicles a successful online beauty vlogger Sarah, brought back to life in a terrifying future to save a dying colony of mutant survivors. Co-financed by Screen Australia, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Create NSW, the series launched June 24 on YouTube, ABC’s Facebook and ABC iView where it has already proved a hit with audiences.

Said star Claudia O’Doherty: “I can’t believe we’re going to Comic-Con! I’ve never truly understood what it is - is it in one room? Is it in the morning? Is there food? I can’t wait to find out”.

Creator/Writer/Director Nick Coyle said "I'm so excited to be bringing our post-apocalyptic beauty vlog Sarah's Channel to Comic Con 2019. We're all really proud of the little show we've created, and I can't wait to see how fans of the genres we've smashed together respond to it."

The San Diego Comic-Con panel for Sarah’s Channel – featuring O’Doherty, Coyle and producers Miles and Colston – takes place 3pm next Thursday 18 July at the San Diego Public Library’s Neil Morgan Auditorium.

Sarah’s Channel is a Yellow Creative and Mythmaker production for the ABC. Principal production investment from Screen Australia, in association with Create NSW.
